Featherstone Rovers is a semi-professional rugby league club in Featherstone, West Yorkshire, England, who play in the Kingstone Press Championship. Featherstone is a small former coal mining town with a population of around 16,000 and Rovers are one of the last "small town teams" which were common in rugby league in the early 20th century. Known as Fev or the Colliers, the club has produced many junior players who have gone on to play for Super League clubs. Their local rivals are Castleford and Wakefield Trinity, and in the Championship Halifax.

The club have won the Challenge Cup three times, in 1967, 1973 and 1983, and been League Champions once, in 1977.

Olive is the UK’s leading managed service provider with experience and success with migrating clients to cloud services with an emphasis on “mobile first” access.

Before Olive, Featherstone Rovers had an aging telephony system and wanted to take advantage of a fully integrated mobile communications platform, with the benefits of resilience, simpler operational and billing, staff productivity and the ability to have a truly unified communications solution.

Olive implemented a Vodafone One Net solution which integrated their fixed and mobile telephony.

“We chose Olive because of their agile and business focussed approach, and we are delighted they were able to integrate our 2 technologies into one system, we replaced a rather aging and antiquated phone system and saved the club money in doing so.”

Featherstone Rovers Commercial Management

Olive Business Development, Tony Hay, was keen to make sure that Featherstone Rovers felt the full value of their Olive relationship.

“Our initial commitment to provide unified telephony and mobile communications, and our proactive service is always key. We were also keen to show support for the club in other ways, and by sponsoring these key events we can help the club, and at the same time engage with other local businesses within the Featherstone community. This to us is a truly successful partnership.”
